   Hi from Australia.

   I liked your review of the Epson ET-7700 but it is too expensive down under for me. I can purchase in a half-price sale an Epson XP-860 (to replace my XP-640) for $190, which seems to me to be a good deal. The reason I’m replacing the XP-640 is because there is black ink blobbing and smearing which I don’t know how to fix. I asked Epson support — all they suggested is that I try different paper but as this happens on normal 80 gsm copy paper and on all other types of paper I have tried, I am at a loss to fix the problem. I heard you mention in your ET-7700 review that it did not have this problem, whereas other Epson printers did. My questions then are: Can the problem be fixed (by me!) on my XP-640? If not, will the problem also appear on the XP-860?

     This is a common problem I think, I do have that issue with my printer as well, and they only answer I can give you is use the printer at lest once a week and clean it every now and again, I have made a video on how I clean my printer but it’s not perfect, hope it helps.
